The EBC Cross was formerly known as the Skinner Butte Cross. It is seventy feet high and is illuminated at night and can be clearly seen throughout much of the southern Willamette Valley. It was placed on Eugene's Skinner Butte November 28, 1964 as a Veteran's War Memorial. The Cross remained there until June 23, 1997 and was relocated to the EBC Campus and installed June 24, 1997. The Cross was given to EBC by the City of Eugene. Area Corporations and individuals of Euegene/Springfield donated time and funds to the moving of the Cross and for the construction of a beautiful plaza,which is open and available to the community.
