Alright, the proposed rules are out! The Department of Licensing is asking for feedback and there is formal rules reading on Tuesday, November 5th, 2013 in Olympia.
As I reviewed the rules, there is not anything that is surprising. It’s all there, in black and white and is fairly reasonable and will allow the graduates of a master esthetic program to be more knowledgeable.
My only concern is that the guidance for the Grandfathering is not yet published. After speaking with the Program Manager, he said that those should be coming out shortly. I am so excited to share with you Evergreen’s Grandfathering curriculum … the current drafts are pretty awesome.
Some students have asked me, is it better to start the program now or wait until the Master Esthetic Licensed is introduced? I would suggest checking out schools now; it doesn’t mean that you have to enroll but it will show you what type of options that you have. If you wait until 2 more months, the decision will have been made for you.
I had an orientation session to with our admissions counselors at my college and shared with them the benefits and drawbacks of both. It’s important to make an informed decision. Please comment below with questions that you have and I would be happy to answer them 🙂
