Esthetics Student Success Story: Jordan Hill

About Jordan Hill

Jordan was into beauty long before she ever thought about making it as a career.

The love for beauty started even before any kind of business was formed. In middle school, Jordan would spend hours watching makeup and nail tutorials, soaking up every technique she could find. She started practicing on herself, learning how to do her own press-on nails and makeup, partly to save money but mostly because she loved every second of it. Then her friends started noticing. Jordan’s friends would ask her to do their lashes and their nails, and suddenly the idea of pursuing beauty as a career came into light.

And while she was showing up for everyone around her, she was quietly building something of her own. J.Amani Studio started when Jordan was just fifteen, a handmade scrub business she created from the ground up. Body scrubs, lip scrubs, lip glosses, and more, each one made to be healthy, effective, and beautiful without a price tag that makes people think twice. Her mission has always been clear: quality products that are affordable and made with love. She was not overthinking it. She just loved making things people could use and feel good about. At fifteen, Jordan was already an entrepreneur with a mission and a brand to match.

The Evergreen Experience

Taking that next step into esthetics school felt like the most natural thing in the world, and EBC was right there waiting. The school sat five minutes from her front door. “I would pass by it every day, and always dreamed of going!” she says. When the time came, EBC welcomed her with open arms.

Jordan before performing a service

Inside the program, Jordan fell for two things fast: facials and lash extensions. “I can’t wait to offer these services to people!” she says. Ask her what the most valuable part of her training has been and the answer comes without hesitation: working on real people. There is something that textbooks just cannot teach you, and the moment a real client sits down in front of you, everything changes. For Jordan, that moment is everything. Her goal as an esthetician is simple: to put her clients to sleep. And she means that in the best possible way. “I want them to be falling asleep during their service!” she says. That warm, calm energy she brings to every appointment is completely intentional, and the people who sit in her chair are going to feel every bit of it.

She also showed up for EBC in a big way beyond the classroom. Jordan was part of the Back to School Event, EBC’s biggest community event of the year, where students provide free beauty services to K-12 students. Jordan jumped in with free mini facials, giving kids the kind of intentional, professional care. She also participated in the EBC Job Fair, where students get to meet and connect with employers across the industry face to face, and she had a genuinely great time doing it. On top of all that, she earned the Digital Marketing Award, which recognizes students who show real skill in promoting their work and building a presence online.

The Next Step

J.Amani’s Lip Scrub

After graduation, Jordan is thinking of spending six to twelve months at a spa gaining hands-on experience before stepping out fully on her own. Her future suite is already taking shape in her mind: sugaring, lash extensions, facials, and brow laminations, all in one place.

She is already taking steps toward that vision. Jordan recently earned a sugaring scholarship, giving her the opportunity to further her training and add another in-demand service to her skill set. For someone who already knows she wants to specialize in sugaring, it is an exciting opportunity to keep building toward the career she has imagined.

And J.Amani Studio is coming with her. The business she started at fifteen is not slowing down. If anything, esthetics school has given it a whole new dimension. Jordan is building toward a future where J.Amani Studio is not just a scrub brand but the name behind a full esthetic experience, products and services, skin and soul, all rooted in the same mission she set when she was still in high school: beautiful, effective, affordable, and made with love.

Her advice is short and just right: “Jump in and do it! And remember that you are unique and talented!”

Jordan Hill is expected to graduate from EBC’s North Seattle campus in October 2026. Follow her journey and shop her scrubs on Instagram at @jamanistudio. We cannot wait to see what she builds next.
