Esthetics Student Success Story: Nealan (Kye) Alarva Becker
About Kye Becker
Kye Becker has always believed that taking care of your skin is an act of love.
It started with his mom. Growing up, she made sure he knew how to care for his skin, sharing every tip and trick she had for keeping it clean and healthy. Did he listen? “No, hahaha,” he admits. It wasn’t until his adolescence that the consequences caught up with him. Bad acne had moved in, and Kye had no idea why. He spent four years researching, going through skincare brand after skincare brand, trying to understand what his skin was actually trying to tell him. Eventually, he figured it out. He cleared his skin and learned how to maintain it. That four-year journey of trial, research, and breakthrough was the start of his esthetics journey.
On the side, Kye was hobby maxxing. On his days off you might find him drawing, painting, hiking, cooking, doing photography, or spending time with his nephews. Originally, tech was where Kye was headed. But when a long-lost friend graduated from Evergreen Beauty College, something clicked. “I decided that I wanted to make people feel the way I felt when I had clean healthy skin and knew how to maintain it,” he says. That feeling of finally being in your own skin, confident and clear, is what drives him. At EBC, he has been delivering exactly that.
Kye had also watched many friends graduate from EBC and wanted to be a part of that family. After doing his research, he found that the school was close by and had a lot to offer. With his friends and the location, deciding on Evergreen Beauty College was easy.
The Evergreen Experience
Kye came to EBC’s Renton campus and found that the most valuable part was the environment and the hands-on experience. “The teachers are very helpful and the school prepares you more than you would think,” Kye says. Having educators who genuinely invest in your growth and cheer you on every step of the way makes all the difference, and at EBC’s Renton campus, Kye found exactly that.

Facials and advanced treatments are where Kye gets truly excited. Chemical peels are his love because they are fast-acting and help clients get where they want to be more efficiently. For clients dealing with acne scars or hyperpigmentation, microdermabrasion is his go-to. He even has a phrase for it: buffed and beautiful. Whether it is a talking facial where conversation fills the room or a quiet, relaxing appointment where the client just melts into the table, Kye loves every single step of the process. “I love pampering people, making them feel relaxed and at the same time helping them get even more handsome or beautiful,” he says.
Kye also showed up for the Back to School Event, where he provided free facials for K-12 kids in the community. He walked away knowing he had made a real difference. He has had a lot to celebrate during his time at EBC too: 3 Culture Awards, a Successful Start Award, a Commitment and Excellence Award, a Dermaplane Certificate, a Brow Lamination Certificate, a 100% Attendance Award, and the Digital Marketing Award.
None of this happened without the right people in his corner. Kye gives a big shoutout to Ms. Zayla, Ms. Peyton, and Ms. Amber. “Thank you for being a part of my foundation,” he says. And his day-one estie besties, Taytay, Malls, and Vafl: the crew that made every long day a little brighter.
When you book with Kye, there is one thing you can count on: the appointment is entirely about you. He wants every client to feel comfortable and never shy, because from the moment you sit down, the focus is completely on how you feel. And as for what he wants you to walk out feeling? He says it best himself: “My goal when you walk out the door is to make you feel like Edward Cullen when he tries to expose himself as a vampire in the sun!” Glowing, radiant, and ready to be seen that even Edward Cullen is jealous himself.
The Next Step

Kye is not stopping at esthetics. After graduation, he plans to go back to school to become a Master Esthetician and earn his laser certificate. The dream is to own a medical spa where he can help people achieve their skincare goals, and one day become a physician who can diagnose and treat in the same space. He wants to be known for helping people treat their acne and hyperpigmentation, or simply learn how to love and maintain the skin they are in.
His advice to anyone thinking about enrolling is as simple and honest as he is: do it. “It’s worth it! You’ll have fun and it’s the only place where they hold graduation for all the schools,” he says. “The environment at EBC is something you wouldn’t want to miss.” Guest speakers from professional skincare brands come through the classroom from time to time too. There is nothing quite like learning from the people behind the products.
Kye Becker is expected to graduate from EBC’s Renton campus in October 2026. Follow his journey on Instagram at @skinbykye. We cannot wait to see the medical spa he builds.
